Protea Sp. z o.o. was set up in 2001. The Company purpose was and still remains to fulfil the foreign, especially Scandinavian
Companies' great need for cheaper industrial production. This has expanded outward to cover all Europe and also into the Asian Markets.

Protea Cranes is a leading global provider of Offshore and Onshore Craneage and Winching systems.
Our contribution to that impact is reliant on each and every one of us, taking personal responsibility for correct engineering practices. Responsibly Caring for others safety has forced the raising of higher engineeering practices, to ensure that the environmental impact of machinery and equipment is lowered. The company integrity for safer engineering practices brings about new and innovative ideas.
Finding environmentally and socially responsible ways to meet the world's demand for better craneage systems places higher responsibility for company employees to perform at their highest level - safety is an issue that must not be overlooked, all company employees see the scale of impact for their positions – politically, ethically and environmentally. Due to the constant increasing amount of the orders, in 2004 the merger of Protea and NDT Olesno Company took place. This allowed us to extend the scope of our design and strengthen delivery services.
In 2005 Protea began to develop rapidly. A significant growth in sales and profits resulted. The Firm received many foreign orders from Russian, Norwegian, European Union and Asian Companies.
As a result of constant growth of orders for different types of equipment, Protea divested itself of the neccisity of using independent subcontrators bringing about the reduction of costs in production.

The scope of our services

We offer complex engineering solutions including logistics, warranty assistance and post-warranty services/repairs, as well as modernization of heavy machines.
 The main Protea office is located in Gdańsk. The production factory is in Ligota Górna, near Kluczbork. The production capacity of the factory is 1000 tonnes of steel per year.
The Company has its representative agency in Molde in Norway and we are also represented by our agents in:
- Venezuela
- United States
- Brasil
- China
- Singapore
Since 2003 Protea has been cooperating with Aker Aker Kvaerner Company, currently named - Aker Solutions.
